Winger Picture
A former member of Alice Cooper's band, bassist Kip Winger formed his own group in 1986; in addition to vocalist/bassist Winger, the group featured lead guitarist Reb Beach, guitarist/keyboardist Paul Taylor, and drummer Rod Morgenstein, formerly of the Dixie Dregs. Taking its name from its leader, Winger specialized in the stylish hard rock that sent Bon Jovi and Poison to the top of the charts. The band's eponymous debut sold over a million copies on the strength of the rocker "Seventeen" and the ballad "Headed for a Heartbreak." Winger's second album, 1990's In the Heart of the Young, was equally successful, selling over a million copies and featuring the hit power-ballad "Miles Away." However, the band didn't outlast the grunge trend and the group faded away after the release of its 1993 album Pull. Kip Winger launched a solo career at the tail end of the '90s. In early 2006, the "Pull" 1993 line-up reunited, along with a fifth member on keyboards.

In The Day We'll Never See Lyrics

Winger

I was born unto the Earth
Mama died on the night of my birth
I grew up, no place to jam
Just hearing the talk of someone remembering

When all the children say
And all you heard was the word
Funny how we've changed
We're getting closer....

Chorus:
To the day we'll never see
The rising sun, it's setting
In the day we'll never see
What have we done?

Crucify, while you stand by
You hear the call but don't blink an eye
Where will you go, nowhere to run
What can be saved when the damage is done

The world is spinning round
The light of the moon is
Now the tear of the clown
Hear the word, it's coming down
We're getting closer......

Chorus:
To the day we'll never see
The rising sun, it's setting
In the day we'll never see
We're getting closer
To the day we'll never see
The rising sun, it's setting
In the day we'll never see
What have we done?

Solo

The world is spinning round
The light of the moon is
Now the tear of the clown
Hear the word, it's coming down
(We're getting closer)
Getting closer!!

Chorus:
To the day we'll never see
The rising sun, it's setting
In the day we'll never see
What have we done
To the day we'll never see
The rising sun, it's setting
In the day we'll never see
The time has come, the time had come
In the day we'll never see........
